Question
I have a green mills 5 cent vest pocket. serial nr 4700.
Is there a manual for this model. It will take a coin and things seem to work but the wheels don't spin.  Any help would really be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Steve,
I can answer questions here and offer some help, but fix-en machines is just not very practical here as I am sure you understand, and I know the kind of help your looking for. Here's the deal.... Mills vest pockets are neat, but there hell in the jamming department, they always have been. If it is repaired by someone who knows this machine, and can also fix the things that cause them to jam, well you got a winner. A few, and only a few vest pockets work good to very good. I have a chrome vest pocket, that is stuck and not working and I just haven't took the time to fix it as to fix it, I would have to also study everything about it to cure it's problems. Well, I not willing to do that just now. BUT, I think I have found someone who does just that! I haven't done it yet, but I am thinking about sending mine, along with an extra vest pocket mechanism I have to him to see what magic he can do with it. SO, here is the information I have for him: e-mail him at: delongslots@alltel.net at the time I was looking, back in 02-07 he quoted me this; most repairs run approx. $125.00 to $200.00. His phone number is 814-965-5778 and prices may have gone up as everything has, and his name is Rich. I am going to send him my Vest pocket soon, as I think he knows this machine, and that is who I want to work on it. I fix machines all the time and I never see them again, why? Because I know them, and I fix them right, so they work and keep working. That is what my end result goal is, and so far in 40's years of doing this I have achieved this. But, I can fix a vest pocket but I haven't learned the machine well enough to fix it's inherent problems. I think Rich here might of done this, and if so, he is worth every dime he asks for, and more for fixing a vest pocket. Please let him know where to look for this answer I just gave you, as it might help you in getting your VP fixed.
Thank You Steve and sorry for the lengthly answer, but I also want the world to know about these little Mills vest pocket slots.
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
