Subject: Is this a Karosein lamp-Maybe Military?

Question
Hi Stuart, I recently bought this lamp? Or burner?
I am not sure what it is really, but on the bottom is engraved with, Lander's,Frary, & Clark New Britain, Conn. U.S.A. Canada, Dec 15, 08. The patent says March 20-1906 and November 17th 1908.
I'm not sure what it's for or what it does, it kind of makes me think it's military? And it's made of either brass or copper, and is about 4" high, and 14" around Thank you for your help !

Answer
Lander's, Frary and Clark were a manufacturing company inventing and making household products - mainly from metals.  Although I now 'shoot from the hip' so to speak it is my opinion that your devise is a heater fount (tank), or possibly the fount and burner from some sort of cooker.  You would need to locate somebody proficient in the products of this particular manufacturing company (my expertise lies with Edward Miller & Co. - also as it happens of Conneticuit)

I am sorry that I cannot be of further help.

Regards

Stuart
