Question
QUESTION: My daughter has a small collection of 6 American girl dolls and we need to store them. I do not have the original boxes.  they are in good shape.  Do I put in plastic containers or box containers? Acid free paper to wrap in?  thank you in advance

ANSWER: Hi Sue
Nice to hear from you.
Interesting question.
Wrapped in acid free paper is a must.
Plastic containers will prevent any humidity or the dreaded mice or other crawley things to get at the dolls so that would be my choice.
Just as long as the dolls are completely wrapped.
Hope this helps
Kind Regards
Eileen

QUESTION: I forgot to ask where do you get the acid free paper?

Answer
Hi again Sue
Try any stationery store, photo store or actually paper sections in places like Wal Mart.
Its pretty common today as most folks use it for scrap books. pictures and wrapping things like you.
Dry cleaners also use it so if you have an "in" there thats a good place.
Good Luck

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
