Question
heya Rodger. I have a Westinghouse WC-78-MD coke vending machine. I know its circa 1960's and it is in working condition though does show some age. I am just wanting to see if there is a way to get a reasonable figure as to what a generally accepted value would be for it. Thanks     phillip

Answer
Hi Phillip,
I hope you have seen and read my expertise, so you know I don't do pop machines. So please don't rate me bad for trying to help you anyway, OK? I have nothing on the WC-78, which the 78 stands for "it will vend 78 bottles or cans", but I do have information for the two models right between yours. The model Westinghouse WC-56, value average condition $475.00 and it has a completely restored value of $1,550.00 made early 1950's. On the other side of yours is the Westinghouse WC-96, made in the mid 1950's, average condition value is $375.00 and completely restored condition has a value of $1,250.00. I think you would be safe at coming up with a value using these two models as a guide. Sorry if you feel like I took a bit to find this information for you, it always takes some digging. I hope this helps you some.
Thank You
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
