Collectibles-General (Antiques)/gumball machine

Question
A recent gumball machine was sold at an auction. The description was an "original Silver King (NOS) peanut machine. What does the (NOS) mean? Thank you very much.

Answer
New Old Stock-- which means it was never used. Sometimes gumball or peanut machines (or other antique item for that matter) are found in the original shipping boxes and were never used.  Thus, they still are in mint condition.  NOS usually commands a large premium over regular condition items for obvious reasons.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
