Found this pretty beat up slot .  Your thoughts??

Answer
Hi Charles,

Well I don't know what to think, It a Columbia, there OK and a neat machine but if it's broken or missing parts it's worse then not good. They have some pot metal parts in them that break and they need to be in real good condition to work well. If it is broken and or missing parts then it's just parts. I have had a few, yours has a token dispenser instead of jackpots, which is not so good, jackpots are more better. Looking at it, my first thought is it's parts, and a good thing for a guy to buy like me, who fixes slots. A good Columbia isn't a gold mine, a good one with jackpots can sell around 500.00 to about 800.00 on average. A parts machine like this would be worth about 50.00 to maybe 100.00 at tops to a fixer like me who is always in search of parts. If I were to make an offer on a machine like this if it doesn't work, it would be 75.00 plus I would pay shipping. Not sure what else you might want to know about it, but just ask and I will find. I can figure out the age and history about this model if you like, or maybe I was able to answer any questions you had about it already here. If you want to save a few other Columbias and sell yours for parts, I am interested but my offer is 75.00 plus shipping cost or 125.00 and you just box and ship it, I pay 125.00 total.
Thank You

CommentI appreciate the comments. I live in Downey Ca. and wouldn't it be great if you lived nearby. For now, if you haven't an urgent need, I'll stick it back in the garage. Thanks again. Chuck

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
