Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Pewter jug

Question

Pewter jug
I would be grateful if you could tell me something about the pewter jug shown in the attached image.  It is about 7.75 inches high overall and in good condition.  The wicker covering the handle seems original and in good condition.  The only thing I l know for sure is that it is at least 80 years old.

The markings inset are on the bottom.  I would be interested to know the year of manufacture and an approximate value.

Thanks and regards.

This is a hot water jug, or ewer, made by James Dixon and Sons in Sheffield, England around 1890. It is made of Britannia metal, a pewter alloy used in fabricating from sheet rather than casting. Dixons were very prolific, and their wares are the most commonly encountered pewter wares of this period.

Value, if in excellent condition with no repairs, is around 20 pounds / 40 dollars.
