Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Rembrandt Lamp

Question
I have a Rembrandt floor lamp (see picture). The shade is labelled 'The Gramophone' . The lamp base and support rod are brass with a sphere and a disk on the support rod - looks like onyx - is it some type of resin or actually onyx? Also, would you know if the shade is original to this lamp? I was told the lamp is art deco revival style, circa about 1929 - do you agree? And lastly, it has a dual light receptacle - on one of the receptacles, the top cover (covers the electrical cord in the receptacle) was missing. The cord comes out through the side of the receptacle - unlike the modern ones where the cord goes through the cover. It reminds me of the top of a large salt shaker - without the holes. Oddly enough I used just such a piece to cover the opening (first putting some electrical tape inside to cover the holes to keep dust out). Do you know where I might get a brass replacement for this cover? It is an inch and a half in diameter and just snaps in place on top of the receptacle - I would just need to make a small insert cut so as to make it fit over the receptacle's attachment to the lamp support rod. Thanks for any help you can give me. Dennis.
AnswerHi Rembrandt was a quality lamp MFG. and was popular during the early 1900s especially 1920s and 30s. I have had dozens to rewire over the years. The pieces are probably onyx are marble, not resin. I know the cap you are speaking of. I might have one. I am not sure if the shade is original. If it appears old to you and is labeled as you say, then it is quite possible to be original.
