Question
I have two items with this number 384, one looks like a tea pot the other looks like a sugar dispenser with two handles. Can you please tell me something abuot this items (Victoria Plate 384 E.P. COPPER B.M. MOUNTS)

Answer

Hello Alfred,

This is electroplated silver plate, which is not really my field. Probably dating from around 1900. 384 is just a pattern number. Presumably the body of the piece has copper as the plating base, while Britannia metal (BM - a pewter alloy) was used for the mounts.

Hope that is helpful.
