Question
I have an antique wardrobe armoire. Only one of the casters is in tact.  Where
can I get new casters and what type are best? They seem to be small for the
armoire.  They are wood so most of them have broken.  Also the top of the
Armoire in arched and the wood is coming off.  What is the best way to repair it?

Answer
Hi Melody
Nice to hear from you.
If you go to a place that does refinishing, they will provide you with replacement castors for your wardrobe for peanuts.
If you lived close I could give you a dozen LOL (and I mean free).
Could you post a picture of the top of the wardrobe?
Its hard to speculate about whats happening.
The site allows a picture.
Kind Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
