Collectibles-General (Antiques) - Could this be authentic?

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I just bought this cute medium sized rocking horse.  It looks really old.  My questions are the usual ones... can you tell if it's real or a reproduction? How much could it be worth?  Thank you so much for volunteering your time.
IMAGE: Jill's easy keeper

ANSWER: This looks like an inexpensive Asian import.  Worth probably around $100 as a "decorative item".

QUESTION: It looks so old... what are some of the things that you're seeing?  I'd like to add another to my "collection", but it's hard to know what's worth anything and what's simply decorative.  I don't mind decorative only items, I just don't want to pay "collectable" prices for them!

I read your other responses... thanks again!

Answer
There are certain things we look for....like the way the the tail is carved and in the case of the rocking horse... what the rockers look like.    Now I see you've displayed a photo of another horse.  This one is a knock-off from the Philippines.  Again..Just a decorative piece.

Go to the library and pick up some reference materials on the collectibles you seek.  You'll save yourself a bundle!
