Question

bone sewing item
Hi,
A friend of mine has sent me the attached image of an unidentified sewing tool, do you know what it is please?

Answer
Hello Margaret.

I can't tell from your picture, but are all the holes the same size?  If not, it could be a gauge for knitting needles.  If they are all the same size, it could be a thread/floss holder.  I've not come across this particular item in the past, so these two suggestions are my best guess.

CommentHi, Thank you for your reply, i also have not come across such an item, and thought possibly a thread/waxer tool, yes all the holes are the same size, i also thought of a knitting needle gauge. Best wishes
