Question
HI
I LOVE THIS SITE!
Help my jukebox lights up,i can punch my selection in ,but the salector keeps going and going. It will not pick a record of my choice. It just keeps on going. We have not used this for some time at least 5 years or so.If we can fix it what do you think it is worth? thank you so much

Answer
Hi Sandy,

I can't really grade your jukebox over the email and without evening seeing a photo of it but here is something for you to work with. I figure it's worth about $2,500.00, but this is a guess based on not much but the value guide, without even seeing a photo of it. Grade one condition is restored and perfect, just like new and being sold in a retail location with a guarantee and grade one value is $5,500.00. Grade two condition is refurbished, and working great, and being sold in a retail location with a guarantee, and that grade two value is $4,100.00. Now grade three is an average juke like yours being offered to a dealer, and you could expect an offer of $1,250.00 for it. So, I would say selling it to the public yourself you could expect to get around $2,500.00, more or less for it. I can't fix your selector problem here via email but I can direct you to a trouble shooting manual that should cover just that in detail by a guy who spent years fixing these, the web site is at:

http://alwaysjukin.storesecured.com/items/jukebox-reference-books/list.htm

And look for this manual:

Seeburg Reference Book Vol. 2
1955-1962 Models

I would think maybe something is gummed up from all that time sitting, oil and grease get stiff when cold and things get sticky and slow. Early grease was a wax base and over time the oil in it goes away and it can become as hard as glue. You might just have to do a little cleaning and oiling on the selector and drum parts but this manual should cover this problem.

Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
