Carousel Horses

Bruce,

Would you please provide information concerning the two carousel horses in the attached photos? Who carved them, and in approximately what year? Both horses originally had horse hair tails, and I suspect many or all of the jewels were added later. Also, I'm pretty sure both are originally from the same carousel.

Answer
The armored horse in the picture is a Marcus Illions style while the other is a Charles Carmel style. It's impossible to tell from the photos if these are original or reproductions since they appear to wear new paint. If original, both would have been carved around 1910 1912.
