Question
I have recently inherited a Cutler roll top desk. It has a number on the side that say NO. 391. It looks very similar to the one on the patent given to Abner. Could you tell me if this number identifies the age? If so what would the dates be? Thank you!!--Tanja
Answer
Cutler is in the top 10 of roll top desk manufacturers around the turn of the last cnetury.
the number has nothing to do with date or age it is a factory number indicating whatever. it is proprietary to the company and is most likely a catalog, inventory or other such tracking method.
