Expert: robert klein - 11/2/2009
Question Hi, I acquired an old rocker. I've always been told that these are gooseneck rockers. I can't seem to find one on the internet. I'm sure there is. I would like to send a photo. I'm not sure how to do that in this letter. I cleaned the wood parts of the chair which kept the original patina. Then I waxed the wood. Then I reupholstered the rocker. It is beautiful. If you can email me and let me know how to send a before and after pic. I would appreciate it. It is not a platform rocker like some gooseneck rockers I have seen. The wood appears to be walnut or mahogany.
Thanks so much, Richard Bromley
Thanks so much, Richard
Answer i believe there is a button for attaching pictures to the questions. with emails to private addresses, you just find in the menu where is says 'attach pictures' or 'attach file'. not exactly sure what to tell you as different operating systems and programs are different.
goose neck rockers can be standard or platform style in mahogany, birch, sweet gum or poplar woods. they can have can actual goose necks and heads carved for an arm or just the shape of the neck.
