Question
Good Morning !
I have some old chairs I know nothing about. I am wondering how old they are and what style and if thy are worth anything. I have 1 captians chair and 5 side chairs. I also have this old table I also know nothing about. If you could help me atleast identify the chairs I would be grateful. I will e-mail you more pictures. Thanks so much !
Answer chairs and table are oak
chairs from 1920s, table from 1900 but a good match. we have refinished many sets of chairs like these, they have a great style and form. charge for restoration would be around 150 per chair minimum not including upholstery. table needs a bit of work, cost there would be 1500 or so. but the way i live they are fine as they are!! i prefer the well cared for but worn look for myself.
retail as is the chairs would bring around 75 each and the table around 350-400 as is.
thanks for the pics, the set is worth keeping and passing to your child and keep in mind that dogs do what they do, especially when bored. i have people that want the teeth marks left in the wood when restored. it is a historical record of the time travel.
