Question
I have the above machine. It is showing the error code of 41 in the Win Window. Whenever you pull the handle the reels just freewheel. You can push the reset button and it will relock them. Then the window has a 50 and 0.00. The tilt light also comes on when you pull the handle. Thanks for your help in advance. Al

Answer

Bally "E-Series" Code
Hi Al,

Code 41 is a reel err code, In the 41 code, the "1" is for reel one, or "42" for reel two and so on. So 41 means there is something wrong with the reel or reader on reel number one. Most likely it might be one or more of the emitters "or lights" or receivers on that left reel number "1" has burned out. If you move this reel reader board, swap it with the third reel reader board and try it again. Reel # one may then index, and reel # two may index, and then tilt and give you a code 43 err. If it does, then you know that the reel reader board is the problem and you need a replacement reel reader board, or you need to have it fixed. The "50" code just means that the door was opened and the "50" code goes away after one play. These early reel reader boards are getting very scarce and hard to find anymore. I do believe I may have one or two rebuilt ones around here if you can't find one, if needed you can write me at Jackpot7@q.com. If you need manuals for this machine that will tell you all this information and how to check these out, they are posted now at:

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
