Question
I've done all the mechanical adjustments that the manual says to do but the reels won't spin. They Wheel freely so I know their not dirty or sticky. As soon as it hits the kickoff point the stop pins come into play. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer

Reel stop lever locks,
Hi Larry,

If, I have this all down right in my mind, your reels kick off and spin OK but they are then stopped almost instantly. Is this right? If it is, then check my attached photo. These are the ares marked by hand that have to be clean-clean-clean and then light oil or very light grease, they can't be gummy and sticky, or this is one of the items that can cause this to happen. These small levers lock and hold the reel stopping arm back so the reel can spin and later are released to stop each reel. There are three reel stop levers and thus three of these area to clean, one lock unit for each reel stop lever. If cleaning this ares, and it is hard to get to, doesn't do the trick for you then check between the clock, (gear unit with fan blade on side of reel mechanism), check the roll or shear pin that attach-es the machine to the clock, on time I found this pin broken but it only slipped when the reels kicked off, otherwise it held and you would never know it was broken, this will also cause the reels slam to a stop right away. You can write me at jackpot7@q.com if you need me to draw this out for you if after doing these two things doesn't help.

Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
