QuestionQUESTION: Hello, I am trying to figure out the manufacture date of a Bally slot machine that I have in my possession. The Serial numbers are as follows: 111 4-17 and/or 114-17-287. I am also trying to figure out the value of the machine. The overall apperance of the machine is good.
ANSWER: Hi Kristy,
Well there was some confusion and on my part but we have it now. It's Ballys Model 1114 and as seen hand stamped on top of you serial number tag, it was manufactured on March 6 1979. As for value, this is always a very hard question. What to ask for it? about 950.00 to 1,000.00 or more if you have time. What to take for it? Be happy around 800.00 with today's prices being down on most all collectables. At one time this machine could bring about 1,800.00 but times have changed. The old saying as to value fits in here, the value is what the seller is willing to sell it for, and what the buyer is willing to pay for it. These are great machines, good working and a real work horse, fun to play and easy to maintain, all electro/mechanical in nature and just a find running slot machine. Yours is a 3 coin multiplier model in a low boy cabinet. The model number is the 1114 which refers to the type of game and cabinet model and the numbers after the - refer to which type of game is installed in this model. Attached is some information on this machine for you.
Thank You
Sincerely

Hi Kristy,
The serial number is of not much use for identifying your Bally slot machine, what I need is the model number, it might look like E-2367-04 something like this, a 4 digit number with a dash and maybe a number or two after that. The 4 digits is the model number, the e before would be for Bally E series, the number or numbers after the dash will show which game is in use in this model. This number should be right above the serial number on the tag, under the handle. Can you find this for me, or if not, email a photo of the machine to Jackpot7@q.com as this might help also.
Thank You
Sincerely

QUESTION: Hello Rodger, Thank you very much for the information regarding the Slot Machine. I plugged the Machine in today and it turned on, lights up, but unfortunately the arm will not come down. Do you know of anyone in the Cincinnati, Ohio are that works on Slot Machines? Again, I appreciate all of your help. Kristy
AnswerHi Kristy,
I am going to have to look to see if I can find anyone, I'll try. If you machine has been off for awile, and it will take a coin like it should, but the handle remains locked.... With the machine on, open the door and try wiggling the coin hopper back and forth or smack it with the palm of you hand, while you see if that releases your handle, if it doesn't try doing the same with the reel mechanism. I have see this many times and most always it is the molex plugs behind the hopper or reel mechanism. There aluminum and the plugs pins and sockets corrode, scrub them with a wire brush and see if this will fix it. If not, then it's probably going to be one of the leaf switches on the left side of the reel mechanism. If you need manuals you can find them at:

Thank You
