Question
Hi
I have put a Jukebox on ebay for my boss and somebody has left a message saying that it could be worth a lot of money. Nobody believes it as they all say it is too ugly to be worth much. It is an AMI Vinyl from the 1960's, with model number R-85 on the back. listing is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AMI-Vinyl-Jukebox-100-record-1960s_W0QQitemZ290376775987QQ...
Thanks

Answer
Thanks Mark,

I work with the older stuff and my information stops with the model just before this one, but it almost looks to be that same machine, just slight differences. My reference stops with model R-84 of 1980. <STOP> scratch all this as I just found it, R-85 made in 1981 and the value gives it's value as $900.00 Restored or refurbished in grade 1 or 2 condition and selling retail with a guarantee. The next grade is listed as a 3, and this is working but being sold wholesale to a dealer which is $200.00. So, if yours was working and in good condition it would have a value range of somewhere from 300.00 to 600.00 U.S dollars. None working subtract repair cost or figure around 150.00 wholesale. Notice the year of the R-85 here? it's a 1981 juke, not a 1960's juke, so there is no real antique value, but more a game room jukebox value for a jukebox for the game room that will keep your records safe and ready to play. She is a cool looking juke box to me, looks like a nice size also. Good luck on your auction.

I hope this gives you a good idea as to it's value.

Cheers!

Thank You

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
