QUESTION: Hello! I have recently found an older thimble and could use some help finding some information on it.  It has a very old WALCO tag on the inside of it. At the end of the inside fingertip there is the word Germany wrapped around with a star. I can't see any other marking besides the size 8 on the outside. I have no idea if it is silver or not.  I've included a picture of the thimble. Any info. would help! Thanks!

ANSWER: Hello Bonnie.  Please send me a picture of the thimble as it sits and the top of the thimble.  I can tell you from the markings, that your thimble is not silver.  I look forward to more pictures.  Thanks, Barbara

Thanks Bonnie. This picture indicates there is no mark on the top of the thimble, as some German sterling thimbles were.  Info I sent on your earlier picture remains unchanged.  There are many books out on thimbles and sewing tools and eBay is also a good source for comparables.  Barbara
