ANSWER: Impossible to say without more information.

Try going to www.ibuyoldslots.com and look at the photos of the machines (broken out by manufacturer) to try and identify it.

QUESTION: After research the 25 cent slot machine is a Mills 25 cent Bells Fruit Machine slot machine....Does this help in arriving at a price it might be worth?  Lucian

ANSWER: Not really. Mills made machines from about 1910 to the early 1960s. All of them say "Bell Fruit" on the reels. Can you supply a photo or tell me a model. Just telling me you have a Mills is like saying you have a Ford for sale.

QUESTION: Sorry, after more research the slot machine is a mills WAR BIRD  thanks, and  happy new year  Lucian

Answer
Assuming you mean it is a War Eagle and also assuming it is complete and not a reproduction then you can probably expect to get $500 - $800 from a dealer. If the machine is rusty or has split wood then expect less.

If the machine is a reproduction then it really has no value to a legitimate slot machine dealer.

If it were not for all the reproduction War Eagles out there then the machine would be worth a lot more.

Expertise

My expertise is in the area of antique slot machines. Specifically pre 1940 era machines. I have an extensive price history list of slot machines that have been sold on eBay and other auction houses (e.g., Victoria Casino Auctions, Rich Penn Auctions, etc.). PLEASE, do not send questions about anything that is not coin-op related. I have no expertise in other items and cannot help you.

Experience

1. I run a discussion forum on coin operated devices (http://www.coinopcollectorforum.com) 2. I maintain a web site which tracks price trends for antique slot machines (www.AntiqueSlotMachinePriceGuide.com) 3. I published an 8 hour video tape on how to properly restore a Mills slot machine back in the 1990s 4. I published a book (Coin Op On CD) which was distibuted on a CD. This CD had many articles and thousands of photos of antique coin operated devices. It also had many videos of rare and unusual coin operated devices. This CD has since been published on the web (http://www.ibuyoldslots.com/COCD/) 5. I have written articles on how to identify fake/reproduction slot machines.
