Question
I inherited this slot machine when my grandparents passed.  Where can I find a service manual so that I can get it working again.  I have taken it apart and need to know what makes the reels turn(as they don't turn now the handle just goes down when pulled)

Answer
Hi Lisa,

The Columbia, cute little machine, with the greatest invention for handling coins, if someone tired playing slugs in this machine and won, they got payed out in the vary same slugs they were using, how clever! Made around 1937. There is only one manual that I have ever seen on these, and nothing else available out there as for instructions or manuals except the original 17 or 18 page manual that I know about in all my years, it does have instructions, trouble shooting information, and photo's, along with parts and part numbers. I can get you a copy of the original for 15.00 bucks and the shipping, which would be another buck or two, so say 17.00 to your door. It's not the greatest manual but this is all there is on the Columbia. If you want me to get you a copy, write me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com and let me know and I'll get right to it, OK?

Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
