Question
I inherited an old slot machine from my grandfather. From what I've read it may be a trade stimulator. Here are specifics:

U.S. 5 cent Nickel
Wood sides with steel/iron face
right side arm
payout door on right side that has lock on it.
3 wheels - all cigarette brands
2 or more Lucky Strike packs pays out
3 Wings brand is jackpot - looks like it pays 3 dollar coins based on mechanics inside
Only markings are:
- on inside front face cover: JR 1620
- J.R. 1608 stamped on it as well
- red perforated edge paper stamp on inside left side with pink background and red numerals "19297"

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Only dead-ends so far.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Tom,

Thanks for writing, most of this description will fit about any machine, except the JR, it is for sure, based on the cigarette reel strips, a trade stimulator, when you say pays out on 2 packs, you win and merchant paysout? Most trades don't pay out, but may pay a token or gum ball. Sounds like your does pay a token for the jackpot. There are hundreds, if not more, made by tons of manufacturers. A photo wound tell me everything, can you send one? Send to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com

Thanks Tom

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
