Question
I have this old lamp someone gave me, can you tell me anything about it, it has three bulbs inside with two decorative pull chains, I know the origonal cord has been replaced and one of the (glass) panels is broken out. I couldnt find any mark or brand name on it? Thank you for your time?
AnswerHi, the style is patterned after fixtures from the late 1800s/early 1900s, but this one appears to be a more recent version. If a panel is missing, it would be improbable to find a replacement due to its curved glass. Flat slag glass would have been easier to replace. It has a nice design, and I think the only use because of the missing panel would be to place it on a table lamp that has a broad heavy base, with the missing part facing against a wall. Obviously hanging in the middle of a room with that opening would not look right. In this condition I say it is worth maybe $50, with all panels: $200, and if it were one of the turn of the century ones: several hundred dollars.
Thanks
