Question

Pewter plate
I have this pewter plate that measures 11 1/2 inches in diameter. There is am embossed emblem with two dogs on either side of a banner. below are the words" Antiqui Colant  Antiqum Dterum . Below that is CHESTER. There are no marks that I can find. Thought is may just be a decorative plate. Any information as to age, maker and value would be appreciated. Laurel

Hello Laurel,

Your plate is just a decorative piece from the early 20th Century. The rim form invokes the rococo style of the mid 18th Century, but pieces with embossed coats of arms were not (to my knowledge) manufactured at that time.

Value is just a few pounds or dollars.

Hope that helps
