Question
I've got one of the novelty scales, "guess you wate and fate", really says that on the side. Scale is off by a few pounds, but was wondering if it is worth anything. Its inour restaurant but we need to clear it out.

Answer
Hi Criss,

Hmmm, no photo or model number but lets take a good shot at it. Did it just say on the side: "Your Wate And Fate", if there is no guess as you say there is, if there isn't, then it could be a model 403 of 1950, or a model 400 of 1947. Does it have more then one coin slot? The 403 had 12 slots by months, the model 400 had 4 slots, where you could get your money back if you guessed your wate. Both made by American scale, a kind of box'ie looking scale in maybe yellow color? The 403 had a value of $120.00 and the model 400 had a value of $100.00 back in 1995 so could be worth more, but this is only a guide value anyway. If you don't want it, drop it off at an auction house, or post it on Craig's list, even maybe sell it to an antique shop. You should be able to turn it into some cash easy that way, and there is always ebay, or an ebay store type agent that would maybe deal with it.
Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
