Question

Rowe Ami Cadette
Hi,

My uncle would like to sell a Rowe Ami Jukebox. From what I can tell, it is a Cadette model from the late '60's. Model # CMM1.  My uncle has lost the key, so the jukebox would be sold as is with the 45's contained in the machine included.  The unit was working before it was stored away, but it now has some surface rust at the top.  What would be a fair value for this unit?

thanks!

Answer
Hi Gene,

In this condition, none working, as you need to be able to drop a coin in it and play a song, to call it working. You can expect to have a dealer offer you, about $300.00 for this grade 3 box. If this jukebox was refurbished and in a retail location for sale, and with a grantee and looking real good, you would see a price on it of about $900.00 which is grade 2. Grade one is a completely restored, like new and retail, top price on a very good day, is $1,500.00 listed in a 2008 value guide. Below your grade is a grade 4, now this is something that doesn't work and has been stored outside in the garage, where the critter's might be living in it, rusty and poor condition, this value is $120.00. So, you have the information here to determine where your juke fits n these values. This jukebox is the CMM-1 Cadette, and was made in 1968 by ROWE/AMi, has 100 selections, 45 rpm and production was 1,768 units. Hope I answered all your questions here. Thank you for posting a photo, this always helps a lot.

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
