Question
I was recently given a United Manufacturing "Paradise" pinball machine, works, lights, bells ring, all looks great for the year (I believe it was built in 1848) It has two flippers (everything works). It has the serial number of 770 on it. Can you give me an idea of what it's worth??

Answer
Hi Michelle,

Built in 1848, now we got something here and I would be your buyer! I know, just a typo but it was fun thinking of a pinball made in 1848, it would of been the rage of the town, or they would of burned it at the stake. Anyway, you are right about the year, it was built in 1948 by United, it a one player game and is a Electro/Mechanical game with a symmetrical play field. United made a ton of these this year, they produced some 3,550 units and there value today is about $425.00.

Thanks for writing.
Cheers

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
