Question
I just refurbished an old bowback chair. Is there references so I can get the accual name of it and an approximate age?

Your library would be a good start. You could also check on Ebay or other auction sites for examples and find out information.This type of chair was made for many years by a lot of manufacturers from the early 1900s. They were a staple in pubs and taverns and other places where a lot of seating was required.
