Question
Hello,
I am associated with a B&B in Mendocino County, California, USA.  We have 12 chairs found in the attic of the main farmhouse which dates to the mid-1800's.  The chairs have leather seats and backs which are cracked and we would like to replace them.  They are attached with many "tacks" about 1" or so apart around the perimeter of each.  Do you know of a source to obtain replacement embossed leather components.  I can provide images if that would help.  Thank you for any information you can provide.  Best Regards

Answer
Hi Howard
Nice to hear from you.
Here is a link where these seats are available.
This is a reputable well known company which I have often ordered from.

The link shows page two but there are several pages of these seats so have a good look. I think you will find what you want.

Good Luck
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
