How old is it please and who were JD&Co Ltd  Thankyou !

Answer
Hello Isabel,

Sorry to be slow replying.

Your teapot is by James Deakin & Co of Sheffield, England, and dates around 1870. It is made of electroplated Britannia metal, so would have been silver plated originally.

Pieces by Deakin & Sons are fairly common, but the predecessor firm of JD & Co is less often encountered. In fact, the Pewter Society database does not have any record of their marks. If you have the facility, and don't mind helping others in the future, it would be very useful to have a photo of the marks from your teapot for the PS database. You can send it to stynt@btopenworld.com

Hope that helps.
