Question
Hello!  I purchased a this plate for my husband (hoping to use for this for the honored person on birthdays, etc.) at a thrift store.  It is stamped "Wallace p9110".  (My curiosity was piqued when he asked if he could put it in the oven to warm his breakfast!)  Thank you! Maia

Hello Maia,

What a great idea, using a pewter plate for breakfast - I wish more people would do that! Your plate is a modern piece, food safe, but pewter has a low melting point (around 240 degrees celsius) so care is needed when applying heat. Probably it would survive in the oven for warming food, but the general advice would have to be not to use pewter where heat is being applied.

Hope that helps.
