Question
I have a blue acorn candy machine that I changed the candy mechanism for a gumball.  It has a penny sticker on the inside of the glass top and it only takes pennies.  The flap says Thank You and has an engraved acorn.  The back has a plate that reads Oak Mfg. Co. Inc. with the address and U.S. patent numbers.  There is also some numbers engraved in the body itself.  Its still works great  Would you please try and give me an age and approximate value?  Sorry I am not able to send picture. Thank you very much in advance for any information you can provide.
God Bless, be careful      Linda

Answer
Hi Linda,

Your disruption is good but it still fits a couple of machines. One has a round globe with a 9 lb large capacity globe and round lid and a extended base that held more money 18 1/2" tall it also could of come with the 6 lb. square or the 8 lb rectangular globs and has a value of $45.00 (look for the extended base). The other has a square globe and 15 1/4" tall and has a value of $35.00. Oak was founded in 1947 so these maybe were made in the 50's.

Thats about the best we can do without a photo, but it should be good.

Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
