About Rodger Knutson
Expertise
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Collectibles-General (Antiques) - bevador door hinges

Expert: Rodger Knutson - 3/29/2009

Question
I have and use a Bevador beer cooler, but the hinges on the door have broken. Where can I find replacements

Answer
Hi Phil,

I am a coin-op guy, so I don't know much about these, except I seen a set, two of them in a old bar about a 100 years ago in Portland Oregon on Burnside street, and thought they were really really neat! Is your shaped like a beer bottle?, complete with a cap? I would love to see a photo of it, if you have one you could share with me my email address is: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com As for the hinges, I can't remember what they look like but first I would try to have them rebuilt, welded if needed, maybe re-bushed and re-plated if possible. You could look at Grainger and see if they have something that might work as a replacement, there at: Http://www.grainger.com I really can't think of where else to send you, can the old hinges be restored? Sometimes you just have to roll up the sleeve's and make a replacement or take the old one's to a machine shop and say, I need two of these. These are quite rare so I don't know where you will ever find the parts but they might be out there working on something else and still available.
Thank You
Rodger Knutson
