i have a james dixon and sons pewter dish the markings say sheffield plate cornish pewter 04866 it hs four round ball feet.i wonder if you could tell me the age of this item thanks for any info offered

Hello Jules,

Dixons were a prolific manufacturer of pewter, amongst other things, in Sheffield, England. They began using the Cornish Pewter trademark in 1927, and probably continued using it right up until they closed in the 1970s. 04866 is just the pattern number.
