Experience I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Can you find the model number on it? There should be a metal tag on the right side, just below the handle, this would have the model number on it. It might be something like a model 952 which would be a 1972 "Progressive 5-coin Multiplier" I think you say yours is a electro/Mechanical game meaning it has no circuit boards right? If so, then that narrows it down some. If you can't find the model number or if you can anyway, send me a photo at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com if possible, and this would help. If you have an electronic Bally then your model number would be preceded with the letter E- then numbers. By your description it almost has to be the model 952 as stated above. There were two models of the 952, same game just different reel strips and awards, one "the standard model" had the triple bars, Reel strips had triple deck bars, double deck bars, and single deck bars plus the popular "any bar" feature. The other model was called "Lighting Model" and it was a all jackpots machine with 7, Bar, 5 over bar and mixed bar symbols and brilliant black light reel strips. Both these machines are the model 952 progressive 5-coin Multipliers made in 1972 and were Electro/Mechanical games. They billed this model as Quintuple Sized Super Jackpots, Five coins played to qualify for the Super Jackpots meant the meter totals would grow five times faster and average five times larger then single coin play. If your description is correct as stated, I believe that this is the model you have.
