About Rodger Knutson
Expertise
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Collectibles-General (Antiques) - Vendo 44 Coke Machine

Expert: Rodger Knutson - 4/7/2009

Question
I have an Old Coke Machine, It is a Vendo 44.  The guts were removed and as far as I know the motor does not work.  The outside is in very good condition.  I beleive that it is at least 40 years old, if not older.  Just wondering what it is worth?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Cindy,

Well, you know being it is missing everything from the inside and a none working refrigeration unit is not a good thing, not very good at all. A Vendo 44 in un'restord working condition has a value of $1,900.00 in my book. So one that is missing most of everything inside is going to be less, way less then that, as it's not going to be a very good as a parts machine either. Does yours have the coin changer type of coin mechanism or is that missing also?, some 44's took just a dime, and others would take a quarter and give you the change back, this is the "changer type of coin mechanism" and there worth something just by it's self. I can't give you a good value with out seeing what all is missing so I could do is guess, and if I were to guess I would say maybe somewhere between 500.00 and 1,000.00. If you have the changer coin mechanism let me know and I'll get you a value for that, as this would make a difference. Vendo 44's were made in the late 50's. I had a real nice 44 once, if you are not a million miles from me I might have a Luke warm interest in it. You can write me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com if your interested.

Thank You
Cheers
