Expert: Bob Wiley - 4/24/2009

Question
just bought a chest of drawers with brass handles, previous owner has brassoed the handles and massive build up of white in crevices any ideas pleaseto remove build up

Answer
hey stephanie
easy fix
soak them in warm water and remove the buildup with a soft nylon brush (old tooth brush - don't use it to brush your teeth afterwards!!)
then polish with noxon - this has a corrosion inhibitor in it
lacquer the brass if you don't want it to discolor (you can use clear finger nail polish
good luck
bob
