About Rodger Knutson
Expertise
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Collectibles-General (Antiques) - Acorn bubble gum machine value

Expert: Rodger Knutson - 5/4/2009

Question
I have an Acorn bubble gum machine that I would like to know its value.  It is a square one and holds the square bazooka gum or any square gum for that matter.  The acorn sticker is still on but some of it is torn off.  Do you know what year these are from and approx. how much it is worth?  I didn't send a picture but I can do that if it is necessary.  It is definitely old!
Thanks,
Judith

Answer
Hi Judith

I never heard back from you but:

Someone wrote me and explained his machine, and he seen this and using your description, I think we know what it is. Using his description and his photo, it looks like you have a machine made by Oak Mag. Co, called Goldmine Tab gum Selector. The value guide said it has a value of $35.00 for this machine, but this is a guide and I would think you could get more out of it. I hope this helps you. I scaned some information on it and if your interested, write me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com and I'll be happy to e-mail it to you.
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Hi Judith,

Took just a bit to get to your question, I got the bug and thought It was a swine flu, I was a goner for sure, "not really, but I wasn't feeling good for sure" but it was just a bad cold and feel better today. Can you e-mail a photo to me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com It would really help, as there are countless vending machines out there and guessing is really hard, but not imposable with extremely detailed information, but a photo will tell me everything.
Thank You
Rodger
