AboutRodger Knutson Expertise I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com
Experience I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
Question Rodger, I inherited a Seeburg Trashcan 'box. It was in working condition (I used to play the old '78's on it as a kid). Defects were- missing mirrors and broken/warped red plastic light covers. Spinner on top worked and it changed records just fine. Here's the problem. I store it in my garage for future restoration and was recently hit by a tornado that put a large branch through my garage and through the dome of the Seeburg knocking it over. Busted dome, busted dome frame, unknown damage to turn-table (knocked it off), busted vacuum tubes. Do you think it is now worth restoring? If so can you provide me with contacts for the replacement parts?
Answer Hi Stephen,
Boy, those falling trees can sure run a guy day, had one fall right on the wing of a Cessna 150 once. Took the wing in with the beer cans to the recycle r's, bad day also.
Your juke may not be worth fixing, but you could price some parts and see. The value of a refurbished one, being sold retail with a guarantee might be $2,000.00 and one you have that is fair, maybe complete and almost working a dealer might offer you around $600.00 for it. So, I would say your below that now in value, being a parts box a dealer might offer you from 100.00 to $250 for it. It's a choice for you to consider and look into a bit. Below are some good links for parts, both reproduction and original. Talk to Bill and let him know your on the edge as to parting it or fixing it, maybe he can help you. See Below:
