About Rodger Knutson
Expertise
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Expert: Rodger Knutson - 6/2/2009

Question
Hi Rodger,
My wife and I have an old coca cola ice chest that her father had left her and I have no information about it at all. Can you help me out here and is there a source for spare parts. The bifold lid is rusted pretty bad as you can see in the photos I'm sending you.
I would appreciate any information.
Thanks
Bob

Answer
Hi Bob,

As you might know I don't do soda machines, but I know yours is something out of the ordinary so I took a few days trying to see if I had some information for you. Yours was made by Westinghouse for Coca-Cola in the Mid 30's to the mid 40's and it is called a "Westinghouse Standard", it had a capacity for 102 bottles with room for 90 lbs. of cracked ice. The tank is Galvanized Steel, and it's 35 1/4" high, 31" wide, 25 1/4" deep. Means of cooling was just ice, and it's weight is 114 lbs. It has a rarity rating of 1.0 and in average condition have a value of $375.00, fully Restored it has a value of $1,200.00. Hundreds of thousands of these were produced so I would think there should be parts out there for you. There are many different companies out there in web land that specialize in restoring old soda machine. I am sure if you do a web search for old or antique Westinghouse Coca-Cola, Soda, or pop machines, or parts, you will have a large assortment of companies to approach about getting parts or having your doors rebuilt. I hope you have enjoyed the information and sorry about taking a little time with your question but I had to do some research on it first.

Thank You and Cheers...;.
