About Rodger Knutson
Expertise
I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience
I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!

Question
Hi Rodger,

Yes, the hopper assembly just slide out nice. Thanks. More issues. Slot machine rejects coins. The coins keep returning to the coin tray.
Regards
Matthias

Answer
Hi Matthias,

Well, now your real work starts, what model was this? does it have printed circuit boards? I think you told me it was an older electro/mechanical game, is that right? Well if it won't accept coins, first is the insert coins light in the door light up, is it lit and reads "insert coins"? Next try opening the door and flipping the coin switch wire under the coin accepter fast with your finger to make the machine think a coin just triggered it. Does the machine except this flick of the wire and coin up? If so, it could be the coin rejector coil behind the coin acceptor, you might have to remove the armature from the coil or the whole coil unit it's self to stop it from rejecting coins. Or trace wires to find the problem with the coil. Also, don't forget to check all the fuses with a continually tester, looking at the fuse will not tell you for sure that they are good, sometimes they blow down in the end and you can't see it, always use a tester to check fuses!

Sincerely

Rodger Knutson
