AboutRodger Knutson Expertise I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com
Experience I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
Question I saw that you had responded to a question about one of these earlier in Jan . I'm working on one now .The problem is the arm on slot machine was broke off . a screw broke allowing the arm to come off . I had to drill and retap the hole for for screw in the arm. But my problem is reinstalling the arm . The screws come from the inside out so to get at them once arm is in place I would need to get rest of mechanical components out of my way .anyways I was looking for diagram of the mechanical components for the slot machine to make sure it was reassembled correctly . It looks as though some of the tension spings fell off when arm came off . It also looks as though some springs are not correctly installed . You had said that you could get a manual for this machine , are there mechanical diagrams in the manual? Or do you know someone who is capable of repairing the whole slot mechanism ?
Thank You
Doug
Answer Hi Doug,
Oh Boy Doug, where to start. I have a good manual on Buckley's but they're different then Evens, the Evens Galloping Domino's, Evans long shot races, winter brook, etc., are all really the same machine with different glass. I have a original manual that covers a lot of the Evens games, and it does break down the parts with part numbers but I don't really know if this is what your looking for, sounds to me that photo's would help you more, right? I have some Buckley parts and even a good Buckley spinner, (I am assuming your talking about the arm that spins under the glass on coin up). At one time I had parts for the galloping dominoes, come to think of it, I might still have a mechanism to an Evens dominos but I'll have to do some really deep digging to see if it's still in storage and if I still have it, but it's possible. Anyway, sold my Dominos so no help with photo's there. Could you still replace your spinner and solve your problems or are you committed to it the way it is with your modifications? In the Evans manual I have, it does have a wiring schematic which my be some help to you, and some other written information on units, like the spinner unit, payout unit, changing odds unit, ball control for odds selector, coin head, cheat relay, power supply's, setting the machine up, timer unit etc., etc., and good drawing diagrams showing parts and part numbers like part d-699 complete Spinner which sold for $5.00 in the parts section. For 50 bucks back then, you could buy 10 brand new complete spinier arms, or the whole spinner unit without the arm for $30.00. Anyway Doug, what do you think I can do to help you at this point? I could take what I have in my Evans manual with information, up to the copy joint and have it copied and/or I can go dig and see if I have that Evens mechanism still, as for photo's I don't know where I can get any right now but I will think about is some, to see if I can get you some photo's somewhere.
Let me know if I can help, this is all I have you right now.
