Question Fred, I have a morris-style chair I bought from an antiques dealer years ago. I am soon having the cushions rebuilt and recovered, and have come to realize my chair is different from others I have been seeing online. It does not have the wooden framework on the back to support a cushion, rather it has 2 metal brackets attached to the bottom of the back cushion itself that slide into the rest of the bracket that is attached to the chair seat frame. Is there a part of this chair missing, or were some styles of Morris chairs made in this manner? My chair does have the metal rod across the back, the recieving pieces for the rod are attached at the backs the arms of the chair, and are curved in such a way they appear to be made to attach there. If you need a photo, I will send one later...my daughter has my camera right now~~ Thank you for any help you can give me. Nancy
Answer Nanvy - I will need to see some good photos of your chair in order to help you. I especially need to see where the back fits into the chair.
If you can send me some clear photos of the chair will be happy to tell you what I can. You can send clear photos to me as .jpg files at info@furnituredetective.com. Please send the photos directly to me as .jpg files. DO NOT put them in an online photo album. Be sure to include a copy of your original inquiry so I can match them up or I will not respond.
Thanks
Fred Taylor
