Collectibles-General (Antiques) - gum ball machines

Expert: Marc A. Hess - 8/22/2009

Question
I have a King gum ball machine I believe.  It is 15" high and 8" wide. It is red.  The bottom has the screw area to go on a post.  The front on the silver plate that has the turner on it looks like it has leaves or something similar. It takes 25cents. The bottom of the base says Made In The United States of America.  My husband says that the red is made of pot metal.  I would like to know what it might be worth. Thank you for your time.   Judy

Answer
Judy

There are a number of "King" machines.  The fact that you say it is a quarter machine leads me to believe it is a fairly recent model.  However, without a picture I can not tell for sure which machine you have.  Can you send me a picture?
