Question
Could you please give me an idea what a Columbia nickel slot machine (in good working condition)is worth? (it has the number 1771 inside), and also the approximate value of a Seaburg "45" jukebox (ser.# 1332353)?
Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
Hi There Sue,

Good day to you! I been seeing a lot of Columbia slot machines, made by "Groetchen Tool Company" selling on ebay lately. They are selling in the 400.00 to 800.00 rage depending on what model it is and condition. Some Columbia slot machines have double jackpots and some just have award token payout on a Jackpot, others even have hidden payouts so there are several different models. The ones with jackpots do better then the other Columbia models. There is a value guide for Columbia's and does list values of the many different models. The most common model is called "Columbia Standard" Made in 1937, this is a Three-Reel Miniature Bell as they all are with two strips on the right side. This machine has a value in 5 grades, grade one being like new in the box and grade five being just a parts machine, values in the guide are:

Grade 1 $910.00
Grade 2 $750.00
Grade 3 $625.00 (THIS IS AVERAGE)
Grade 4 $480.00
Grade 5 $250.00

But remember these are just guide values so you have to work from there. Being selling values are down right now, these values still seem to me to be quite accurate to me.

As for your Jukebox, you say it a Seaburg that plays 45 rpm records and give it's serial number. I can't even try to guess what model or year it is with just this information to go on, sorry. I need a model number, and/or year, or a photo better yet to be able to identify it to determine it's value. If you have any other questions or can give me some more information on this Seaburg Jukebox please do, as I am here just to help you, and to find the information that your looking for, and do my best to get you, and give you, answer's to your questions.

Thank You, and Cheers Sue

Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
