Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Wooden Thread Spools

Question
I have a friend whose father owned a dry cleaner business in the late 40's & 50's.  Just as most dry cleaners of that time they did alterations.  She has some wooden thread spools, different shapes & sizes and some with thread still on them from companies like Coats & Clark and American Thread Co.  Are these type spools of any value and if so about how much.  I would love to hear your opinion!  Thank you, Janet

Answer
Hello Janet,
Thank you for your query.
The spools really do not have any great collectible value at all.  They were made in the thousands and thousands so they are not at all rare or one of a kind.
If you check on eBay, they sell for very little money.
Regards,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
