QUESTION: I am sorry. It is a pepsi vending machine. I do not know a year for it though. The model number is dcb 420/240-6. I hope this helps.

Answer
Hi Don,

Soda machine, now we are in trouble. If you read my expertise, I am not an expert on soda machines, and I avoid question about them as I do not deal in them or know anything much about them. As for free vend, I wouldn't think that would be an option on these, why would a route operator want that option, it would be a money loser for sure. I would think that you would have to study the vending linkage, find out how it locks after a vend or how it releases before a vend, and there is where I would do what was needed to make the machine stay released or make it so it can not lock again. Sorry don, but I am not the soda vending machine guy but maybe this information will help just a little. Please don't rate me on this answer because it could be less then 10 as this is not my field and if I knew it was a soda vendor we might not be public here in the first place as this is not my expertise, then maybe this will help you some Don. As for value, I seen these square tops sell between 250.00 and 400.00 dollars at auction before.

Cheers

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
